Capiz 'Sinadya sa Halaran 2005 Mutya' to be named Dec. 9
Roxas City -- This year's Mutya sang Sinadya sa Halaran will be known on Dec. 9 during the pageant night of the beauty-and-brains competition sponsored yearly by the Capiz Lions Club as one of the major highlights of Capiz and Roxas City's premiere festival.
Club president Mel Sergio 'Chuck' Acuña said their civic organization has been staging the search for 30 years now in their desire to show 'all that is true and beautiful in a Capiceña.
Sixteen young Capiceñas representing various municipalities, socio-civic organizations and private business companies in the province and city are vying for the mutya crown, according to club officials.
The pageant night as well as the talent competition on Dec. 7 will be held at the CAP Development Center here.
For three decades now, Acuña said the Capiz Lions Club District 301-B has been a partner of the City of Roxas and Province of Capiz in the annual festival through the mutya search.
He said the fortunate lady who will be crowned 'mutya' becomes the Ambassadress of Goodwill of the city and province. The pageant will be graced by Binibining Pilipinas national beauties and top entertainers.
The club will hold a press presentation of the candidates as well as involve them in a gift-giving and mall tour at Gaisano City Mall Activity Center here on Nov. 30.
Meanwhile, Capiz Gov. Vicente Bermejo and Roxas City mayor Antonio Del Rosario have conveyed their invitation to Capiceños and visitors to witness the forthcoming festival from Dec. 7-11 which depicts the local time-honored traditions of thanksgiving, offering and sharing for bountiful agricultural and fishery harvests and continued progress of the province and city.
