Obet to Mejorada: Sue me!
Armada
Iloilo -- Vice Governor Roberto "Obet" Armada denied the allegation hurled by Provincial Administrator Manuel Mejorada that he is keeping thirty ghost employees in his office.
Armada even refused to comment further, when asked by the media, on the issue saying he does not want to dignify the issue raised by the provincial administrator.
Instead, Armada challenged Mejorada to file a case against him if he has evidences to support his allegation.
Late last week Mejorada told Capitol reporters that he was informed about the suspicious figures of job-hire employees assigned at the Office of the Vice Governor.
He disclosed that based on record thirty job-hire workers were assigned with Armada's office but upon verification he found out that the said job-hire workers did not work at the vice governor's office.
"I have observed that only a few job-hires were reporting to his office regularly," said Mejorada.
Mejorada suspects the thirty job-hires do not exist but "there's somebody getting their salary."
The News Today gathered that the SP recruited a total of 75 job-hire employees for 2005, with each receiving a daily wage of P231.
Mejorada claimed Armada had 30 job-hire workers while the other board members only had four each.
Mejorada said acquiring job-hire workers is allowed by the provincial government, for as long as these employees are assigned respective tasks for the benefit of the province and there is sufficient budget for them.
