Ultimatum out, 'Solve Tan massacre'

An order has been issued by the top hierarchy of the Philippine National Police (PNP) for city cops to solve the gruesome deaths of a Filipino-Chinese businessman, his wife and six-year old daughter.
"Solve the killings in 24 hours," PNP Director General Arturo Lomibao, PNP Chief told Chief Supt. Doroteo Reyes, PNP Regional Office 6 director even as local officials worked closer with government agents to establish the circumstances leading to the senseless massacre.
The victims, Francisco "Bobby" Tan, wife Cindy and daughter Kathy, were discovered stabbed to their deaths early Monday morning. No official account has been released by authorities however radio reports disclosed of at least three motives that had Francisco Tan as the apparent main target as evident of the numerous stab wounds he sustained.
The suspects, independent tips gathered by The News Today from sources bare of two to four possible assailants as police information confirmed that no forcible entry occurred. Radio accounts further heard of statements coming from the family's resident security who told reporters the killings was definitely not the handiwork of criminals out to rob or effect a heist.
Siblings Archie and John Michael, sons of Francisco with former wife were reported to have discovered the killings as members of the entire Tan household called on police.
Mayor Jerry Treņas rushed on the crime scene as top cops pored over the forensic evidences left by yet to be identified suspects.
All three victims were rushed to the nearby Iloilo Doctors Hospital where hospital authorities declared the trio dead on arrival.
The News Today further learned from intelligence sources that extra security has now been provided for the surviving members of the Tan family.
A total of 13 people were inside the plush Tan mansion along M.H. Del Pilar Street, Molo, Iloilo Cty. Bobby was left for dead sprawled on his bed in the master's bedroom alongside his daughter and wife Cindy.
They were believed to have been dead for at least two hours when responding cops came as alerted by the call for help by a family member.
