Climbing up to the Eiffel tower and a visit to the Louvre in Paris
When we visited Paris, we had a fully-guided tour of the city, including the Champs-Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame Cathedral and the Eiffel Tower, and enjoyed a panoramic view of the great metropolis.
We took a tram elevator up to the second level of the tower. It carried more than a dozen people paying 12 euros each. Our jolly French lady guide said that if anybody would like to go up further to the top, it is already free. You have, however, to climb on your own through the steel trusses, there being no more tram elevator on that level.
We also enjoyed a guided tour of the world-famous Louvre with its fabulous museum treasures. Our guide revealed to us the secret of Mona Lisa's mystic smile as depicted by Leonardo da Vinci in his painting of her portrait in the museum. She was pregnant!
