Dingle execs spend night in jail over ladies' drinks fiasco
An otherwise harmless 'boys' night-out' for seven government figures of the Dingle Municipal Government turned into an overnight of embarrassment, inconvenience and a lot of explaining to do with their spouses.
This, as all seven in said group ended up arrested and charged with assault to person in authority and resisting arrest by operatives of the Passi City Police. The reason? Five Guest Relations Officers (GROs) and 33 ladies drink consumed in a night of fun and relaxation at the Servando Bar in Barangay Punong Grande of said component city.
In a report gathered by The News Today, trouble began for the group when presented with the bill amounting to over P6,000. With only 27 bottles of beer acknowledged by all seven, bar management argued and stood pat on the ladies drink, all 33 orders, given to the GROs who provided them company.
Police were called after disagreement ensued over the bill as one of the men involved readily put out his service firearm meant to be a collateral. The group altogether can only spare about P3,000, another P3,000 short of what was charged of them.
Radio reports said the Passi City cops are bent on pursuing the case however sources told The News Today senior town officials 'rushed' to come up with an amicable settlement. It was not immediately clear what the group's move will be after the arrest with the seven still in a state of hang-over yesterday (Thursday).
The arrested Dingle officials are Sanggunian Bayan member Ronald Cajuya, Liga President and Sanggunian Bayan member Benson Penuela, Sanggunian Bayan member Wilfredo Quindat, San Matias Barangay Captain Romeo Aguirre, Kagawad Nestor Gable and Crisson Aquino of Barangay Caguyuman and government employee, Emilio Cajuya.
