Sunlife donates TV sets for tele-aral
Public elementary grade schools who failed in the recent evaluation of the Department of Education (DepEd) on English and Science subjects will avail of television sets from Sunlife Financial.
Mayor Jerry Treņas said Sunlife donated five television sets to the city government. In turn, the city government distributed the television units to the DedEd for the use of the elementary grade school students. The television sets were turned over to Dr. Erlinda Gencaya.
He said the television sets will be used in the tele-aral program for public elementary school children. The tele-aral is one of the ways to help the learning of students by watching a television program with concepts on Science and English programs.
The tele-aral program will be channeled through ABS-CBN. The education department and the television company are currently formalizing their agreement for the tele-aral, said Treņas.
The mayor hopes some other companies will also donate television sets for the use of elementary public school students. He said the television sets are of great help to the students.
Recently, Iloilo placed lowest on the elementary students with poor performance rating on science and English subjects.
