The Civil Service Commission (CSC) now accepts nominations for the 2006 Dangal ng Bayan Award are now accepted. Nomination is open to all government officials and employees who have demonstrated exemplary conduct and ethical behavior in public service.
The Dangal ng Bayan Award is a component of the Civil Service Commission's (CSC) Honor Awards Program, an annual nationwide search for outstanding public officials and employees. It is a behavior award that distinguishes the performance of extraordinary act or public service and the faithful observance of the norms of conduct under Republic Act 6713 (Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees) namely commitment to public interest, professionalism, justness and sincerity, political neutrality, responsiveness to the public, nationalism and patriotism, commitment to democracy, and simple living.
Nominees must have made a significant achievement relative to the Award. To qualify, they must be in the government service at the time of nomination; must have a performance rating of at least"very satisfactory" or its equivalent for the last two rating periods prior to nomination; must have not been found guilty of any administrative or criminal offense involving moral turpitude; and must have no pending administrative or criminal case at the time of nomination.
Past awardees (of at least five years ago) can still be nominated provided the nomination is based on new set of norms/behavior. Posthumous nominations can be made for officials or employees who died while in the government service and within the year prior to the nomination.
Any individual or organization may nominate candidates for the Dangal ng Bayan Award. Nomination forms are available at all CSC Regional and Field offices. Deadline for submission of nominations is March 31, 2006.
Dangal ng Bayan winners will get P100,000 cash award, promotion to the next higher position (if applicable) or its equivalent salary, trophy designed by National Artist Napoleon Abueva, and other incentives.
