Once again and more
Once again and more... that is how I would describe my musical experience with "The Voice" last weekend. I assume everyone knows who I am talking about by this time, however for those who don't..."The Voice" is none other than the talented, young, energetic and performer par excellence Jed Madela!
It was more because this time around he was with his band, Prime Council and a boy band called 604. It was more because it was in a bigger venue and seats were all taken. It was more because the stage was big enough for him and his band; he was all over the stage that he was such a delight to see performing with so much energy. It was more because Jed sang with his sister Christine and it brought the "house down". It was a beautiful song (The Prayer – Josh Groban & Charlotte Church) that the whole time it was being sung, I had goose bumps all over my body! It was simply breathtaking! It was more because the stage was beautifully designed; less borloloy but it had more impact; simple but elegant thanks to my good friend Edgar Suelo. It was more because I met the most kind and ever accommodating Ms. Rose Rubias, President of the St. Paul's University Iloilo Alumni Association, Inc., who is the driving force behind the show. It was more because I learned a lot from doing this show. I learned to be more patient, considerate, tolerant and kinder to people that upset me either for little or big things. It was more because I not only learned something from doing the show but I believe I was able to help others by learning from me. It was more because I made new friends. It was more because I was more forgetful more than I should remember things that I am suppose to do. Oh well, if you know "Dory" in the movie Finding Nemo, then I am definitely "Dory" nowadays. Must be the anesthesia from giving birth kayo kaya manganak! Hehehe... justification always! Anyway, it was more because this Ilonggo talent named Jed Madela is bigger than life and I bet he does not even realize it. No song is difficult for him to sing. No note that he is not able to reach. Oh well, with that talent he will win the American Idol without a doubt. And if Simon disagrees I would gladly punch him. (joke lang... anti-violence po ako) However, American Idol is not something for Jed Madela. He is for something MORE... yes MORE, no less!
I am not sure when I will be able to see this young man perform again, but one thing I am sure about... he will be the next big thing in the music industry and when that happens I would like to be able to say to my children or grandchildren perhaps? that I had the privilege to work and became part of this talented, performer par excellence, this loving and wonderful person... Jed Madela!
Again, I enjoyed the show of course, after being harassed for the past weeks it was a welcome change to see and hear this performer perform and be inspired by his loving ways towards his family and friends. Inspired by his great talent and wishing that all my kids can sing that well... hahaha... joke, joke, joke... I don't want to end up a stage mother so forget I said that.
Here's to great talent and I hope that the government notices and recognizes it because it is no joke to win a grand slam in an American singing competition. This year I am sure there will be another WCOPA competition but guess what? Jed Madela is a tough act to follow after winning a grand slam. So, whoever will compete this time, this year, we wish you to win another grand slam once again and MORE!
