'My Dream Wedding' for 54 couples
Iloilo City -- Fifty-four proud couples finally exchanged marital vows Thursday at the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish Church in La Paz district. They were recipients of the "My Dream Wedding"project of City Councilor Julienne Baronda and the Iloilo City Hall Press Corps.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by Fr. Rolando Haguisan and co-officiated by Fr. Nene Sinoy. It was a memorable day for couples who have long been living as husbands and wives without matrimonial blessings. Other couples were already wed in the civil rites.
It was a day where the brides had the opportunity to wear their best white dresses, not necessarily wedding gowns so to speak, and walk in the aisle, exchanged I do's with their respective grooms and received the sacrament of wedding. Yesterday was also a time for their families to see the couples finally wed in the church.
"My Dream Wedding" project is also co-sponsored by the Lapaz Maternity Clinic.
"My Dream Wedding" project coincides with Baronda's birthday.
Earlier she said, it is her way of saying thanks for all the graces she received. Instead of having a big celebration, she opted to celebrate her birthday in a more memorable way.
The mass wedding project is already on its second year. It started last year with 25 couples and the number of couples doubled this year. The married couples did not spend anything for their wedding rings, cakes, food, wines, doves and church and reception decorations.
