Icada has no idea on local governance-Treñas
The Iloilo City Alliance of Drivers Association (Icada) must have no knowledge of local governance particularly in the procedures involving budget allocation.
TREÑAS
This Treñas said in response to the proposal of the Icada-Cachuela wing asking the city government to allocate funds for the so-called "transport committee."
The mayor said the matter on the budget allocation was already referred to Councilor Jose Espinosa III, chair of the committee on appropriations and committee of transportation and communication.
Nevertheless, the mayor said there are part of the proposals which are "doable." He cited the group's complaints on the existence of and operation of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) particularly in the issuance of the Temporary Operators Permit (TOP) and the matters which concerns the different terminals in the city boundaries.
He added Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU) chief Bob Foerster has already came up with plans to ease the traffic problems in the city before the Icada presented their 10-point agenda.
The chief executive also said he is satisfied with the performance of Foerster as TMEU chief. He said Foerster is very fair in dealing with traffic aides. He has already caused the dismissal of 10 traffic aides.
Ironically, in the said 10-point proposal, Icada asked for the allocation of funds for the purchase and installation of traffic signs and not the committee on transportation and communication of the Sangguniang Panlungsod or the Task Force Traffic.
