The world is changing rapidly. The conventional way of living is no longer applicable in the presently complicated modern world. Rocket-science dominated the previously simple and organic Filipino lifestyle. Yesterdays' Maria Clara was converted into a hip yuppie patronizing the pop culture mania.
We love new things. We embrace anything that amazes our senses. From the high-end breeds of video phones to the cutting edge music players. Suddenly the world has turned into a huge planet of techno-rats.
We must learn the art of versatility to cope with our fast-developing environment. It is a fact that we need to adapt to the changes in order to continue living. In the same sense, the business sector must develop a strategic approach in order to survive in the competitive metropolitan jungle.
Last March 24, 2006, Tata Loring, Hotel del Rio's Hotel Manager Ed Gomez; Monina Santos, Sales and Marketing Manager of Hotel del Rio; Ana Seva of The Sylvia Manor-Bacolod, and Shiela Alunan Chua, Sales and Marketing Officer of The Sylvia Manor-Bacolod together with Mr. Patrick Gregorio, President of HoteLink walked in the cozy Plazoleta Gay Function Room of Hotel del Rio. As they settled on their chairs, they interacted with the few members of the print media regarding the union of the two big names in the hotel business.
"No we are not doing this because the hotel is loosing. We just want to be globally competitive," Gregorio Manuel Loring, General Manager of Hotel del Rio, quickly exclaimed.
Hotel del Rio, Iloilo's oldest Hotel, affiliated with HoteLink to manage the family-owned business. HoteLink, a group of Filipino business-enthusiasts, is the force behind Cebu's Waterfront Hotel and Casino as well as The Sylvia Manor-Bacolod. Otherwise known as the T & G Tourism Development Corporation, it is headed by the young and versatile Patrick Gregorio whose parents hail from Mandurriao, Iloilo City.
"We need to have links to further improve our network and for the convenience of our customers as well. When a customer walks into The Sylvia Manor in Bacolod and looks for an accommodation in Iloilo, we will immediately refer them to Hotel del Rio. The visitors can find Hotel del Rio brochures in any HoteLink-affiliated hotels in the country," Gregorio further explained.
Miss Ana Seva, Customer Service Officer of the Sylvia Manor-Bacolod was captivated by the air of antiquity the city possesses.
"I love anything that is old. That's why I love Iloilo," she remarked as the meal ended.
Hotel del Rio has been a part of Iloilo's rich heritage and dynamic culture. By working hand in hand with HoteLink, a new Hotel del Rio will surely prove its prowess providing the Ilonggos with unparalleled service and world-class quality they are worthy of.
