Vice guv to file charges vs pro-guv board members
Iloilo -- Charges of usurpation of authority and insubordination await top officials of the Antique Provincial Government particularly those identified with Governor Sally Perez. The accuser is Vice Governor Rhodora Cadiao.
The 'accused' are eight administration board members who purportedly defied the order of the lady Vice Governor and Presiding Chair of the Antique Provincial Board.
In what was to be the resurgence of disunity within the legislative department, Cadiao was only left with three board members in Tuesday's regular session as the majority group went ahead to hold a special session in the northernmost town of Libertad.
Such, Vice Governor Cadiao said was the handiwork of Governor Perez who earlier requested for a special session in order to tackle a request for authority sought on the monetization of the province's internal revenue allotment (IRA).
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that last-minute efforts were made by Cadiao to hold the session as set in the old Capitol building yet come session time, Board Member Zoilo Bernardo Tubianosa went ahead to lead his group in the town of Libertad.
In the end, the Vice Governor was left with only three board members reason why she was left with no choice but to declare a lack of quorum.
It was all-systems go on the other hand for the pro-Perez bloc in a special session attended by Board Members Burgos Nicopior, Julito Osunero, Juanita dela Cruz, Damian Marfil, Eladio Solis, Ricky Lavega and Calixto Zaldivar III.
The lady Vice Governor in a Bombo Radyo interview expressed indignation over the incident while hurling the blame on the lady Governor. Disunity in the Provincial Board is all because of the Governor, Cadiao maintained.
Sentiments that met strong opposition from Eric Otayde, spokesperson for Governor Perez, who clarified that it was back in January still when Perez made the request for special session. And if anything should be blamed, it would only be the opposing politics embraced by the majority and minority board members not the person of Governor Perez.
