Man hangs on to life after 20-ft belfry fall
Doctors are keeping close watch on the condition of a 46 year-old man who fell 20 feet to the ground from the belfry of a Roman Catholic Church in Dingle town.
The incident occurred while Leo Dalayon and three other male workers were putting up the lights of the Dingle Catholic Church belfry. Witnesses told probers that sparks were suddenly seen when one electrical wiring got tangled and got the workers electrocuted. Three of the men who were then on the ground were thrown by the force of the electricity as Dalayon dangled from the belfry.
Those on the scene rushed to free Dalayon however seconds thereafter, he fell straight to the screaming crowd. Dalayon remains in serious condition at the Intensive Care Unit of St. Paul's Hospital.
Meantime, a woman remains in the lock-up cell of Molo Police Office after causing alarm and scandal in Barangay Boulevard of said district.
Police were called in after witnesses saw 36 year-old Anita Vasquez threaten another woman resident, 32 year-old Imelda Esmalda with a ten-inch knife.
It was not immediately known what triggered the knife attack however probers were told of an earlier verbal exchange.
