Pale Bleue Spring/Summer Collection 2006: A night of fashion
Summertime is nonetheless the best time to flaunt those abs and curves. Dressing up in style is a must this season. A perfect time to be fabulous. So, why not beat the summer heat with this year's latest trends?
This year's April 21 was nevertheless special. At exactly 10:00 pm, the lucrative world of fashion finally met its ideal partner as the breathing Barbies and Ken set MO2 on fire with nothing but hot stuffs. Pale Bleue, a clothing company admired for its affordable yet edgy street style, unveiled their 2006 Spring/Summer Collection.
After invading the ramp at the SM City Activity Center last November 2005 with a collection of a-la-mode wearables, Pale Bleue conquered Iloilo's pop-culture haven, MO2 at the Smallville Complex.
"This season's collection is made up of punk, 40s, and 50s look as well as wearable vintage," Pol Tapia, the Promotions and Operation Head of Bonjour de Corp Knitting Corporation explained.
Jaws dropped as young models, clad in their in-vogue summer outfit, sizzled on stage. The immaculate All-White Collection is au naturelle. The crisp wrap-arounds and tempting skirts are perfect for those flip-flops. Strings of pearls complement the subtle yet captivating doll-like dresses. Buttoned tops found its true love - great leather boots. The basic khaki trousers for men were given a more alternative twist and the classic whites were accentuated to give out a relaxed-yet-hip look.
In the name of innovation, Pale Bleue mixed two of fashion's constant, Denims and Whites. Yes, denims are IN this season and so are the funky hip-hugging belts. Dyed jeans and skirts are practically cool.
Glitters are IN too! The issue of cross-dressing is a taboo but the glittered jeans with floral accents (for men) are exceptionally mystifying.
No J. Lo-shaking booty needed to accomplish that bewitchingly seductive look, only a piece of art from Pale Bleue. The scarf-like bronze top is ideal for the bling-blings. The urban fashion premise "The skimpier, The sexier" was brought to life in the ramp with nothing but short shorts and skirts.
Party with colors. That's the other theme of the collection. A wide variety of shades - pink, yellow, red, green, and tangerine in different hues filled the supposedly ink-black night. The classic red dress was given a more artistic touch with the use of a metallic green ribbon - bold and exciting. The powder pink asymmetrical dress is totally to-die-for.
"Now, men don't have to stick with the whites, blues, and grays. Real men are not afraid to wear colors such as pink, yellow, orange and so on. There's a new term for it, juxtasexual," Tapia added referring to the bright-colored men's top.
Tired of the same old plain thing? Well, cheer up because horizontal lines are in town. Dresses, wrap-arounds, bolero jackets, and bikinis in stripe will delight your spirit. May it be in vibrant series of colors or in zebra-stripes, these straight lines are definitely flattering.
Of course, the all-time favorite Bohemian look was present. From the pleated translucent floral skirt to the vintage tops, this part of the collection will surely bring out the mystifying radiance in every women. It is like visiting the Latin part of the globe with a touch of style.
The layered look, popular to the Koreans, has earned nods from the young fashionistas and partyphiles. The equation is simple: Mix + Match = Individuality.
The fashion event was a success. It was well applauded mostly by the yuppies (to which the show was dedicated to) and by the mature crowd.
"We hope that we'll soon have an event like this on the other side [Lucena]. Probably within the next few months," Pale Bleue's Store Manager, Happy Palmares declared after the event.
The Pale Bleue Spring/Summer Collection 2006 Fashion Event was made possible by MO2, Globelines, J & R Family Studio, Cable Star-Iloilo, Mang Inasal, Afrique's, and Robles Heritage.
Indeed, Pale Bleue has etched its name in the world of casual and street fashion with the opening of its 8th store branch in Lucena City last February.
