DFA announces deadline for FSO exam application
Those who are interested to take the Foreign Service Officer (FSO) Qualifying Examinations in the region have only until May 10, 2006 to submit their applications and required documents. This was announced by the Department of Foreign Affairs - Regional Consular Office 6 (DFA-RCO 6) here in this city.
According to the DFA RCO 6, the FSO Qualifying test will be held on May 28, 2006. This will be conducted in the different identified testing centers in the country. In Iloilo City, it will be at the Mandurriao National High School, Mandurriao St., Iloilo City.
The FSO examination is given pursuant to provisions of Foreign Service Act (R.A. 7157) of 1991 and the Revised Administrative Code of 1987 to recruit candidates for appointment to the position of Foreign Service Officer, Class IV.
Those who are qualified to take the examination are the following: must be less than 36 years of age on December 31, 2006; graduated from a four (4) year bachelor's degree course or its equivalent in a college or university of recognized standing; and must be a Filipino citizen.
Aside from the qualifying test, written and oral examinations will also form part of the FSO examination. Only those who will pass the qualifying test with a rating of at least 80% will be allowed to take the Written Examination set tentatively on August 23, 24, and 25, 2006 which will be conducted in testing centers in Pasay, Cebu, Davao, Zamboanga and Iloilo City.
The Oral Examination will be held in Manila after the results of the Written Examination shall have been determined. The candidate must receive a mark of not less than 80% in the oral examination in order to be certified by the DFA as eligible for appointment as FSO IV.
