IPA exhibit showcases the best products of the provinces
SM City Iloilo and the Department of Tourism Region 6 (DOT 6), is once again in a joint effort in bringing the best of the provinces closer to the Ilonggos as well as to the visiting tourists through the Fiesta in the City, an annual gathering of the provinces in the region to showcase the best of their products, festivals and the creativity of their people.
Fiesta in the City has been around for five years now and it has received tremendous support from the participating provinces as well as the private sector who participate in the trade fair--the said fair showcases the different products of the towns in relation to their respective provinces. This showcase is also a big opportunity for our entrepreneurs in the towns to introduce their products to the shoppers. As we all know, it is not all the time that everyone is given the chance to have their products sold at malls, but SM City Iloilo is opening its doors for our business partners in the provinces. Not only that they reach out to the customers of the mall but it is also a way of getting a sure market of their products.
The Ilonggo Producers' Association (IPA) is one with the provinces in bringing their products to the conciousness of the people. The products being sold by the IPA is a testament of the exceptional talent of the Ilonggos, be it in food production, arts and crafts and accessories. The exhibit is from May 8-14 at the Upper Ground floor of the mall.
The trade fair will continue the week after with more products available from our other partners that will run from May 15-20 which will be followed by the formal opening of Fiesta in the City 2006 on May 22, wherein the participating provinces and their respective exhibitors will add more color to the event until May 28. The highlights will be the concerts of award-winning bands Itchyworms on May 12 and Sponge Cola on May 13, the festival presentations and the Parade of Sagala Queens which will feature ABS-CBN Gulong ng Palad hearthrob TJ Trinidad on May 28.
True to their commitment, the Department of Tourism 6 (DOT 6) and SM City Iloilo have joined forces to bring local tourism as accessible as possible to the people. The customers need not have to go to the towns to purchase these great selections of native products--they are all available for everyone to purchase in the ultimate shopping and entertainment destination--SM City Iloilo.
