DOJ secretary inquires on Miaque's business permits
Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, Sr. indeed inquired on the status of the permits of concessionaire Bernie Miaque's businesses at the Iloilo Airport in Mandurriao district.
This was confirmed by no less than Mayor Jerry Treñas who said that he received a letter from Gonzalez asking the status of Miaque's several businesses at the airport.
Treñas said he has already referred the secretary's letter to Atty. Edgar Gil, chief of the City Legal Office (CLO), Lerma Española, chief of the city licensing and permit division and City Treasurer Katherine Tingson.
He did not elaborate more on the contents of the secretary's letter but said he has heard that Miaque already went to the City Treasurer's Office and processed the needed permits.
Earlier, the Permits and Licensing Division of the city hall confirmed that Miaque's paid parking, security school and car wash have no business permits. In fact, it has already sent notices to the concessionaire.
Business permit is renewed yearly. Corresponding penalties are imposed to business establishments that fail to renew their business permits on the month of January.
Employees from the City Treasurer's Office conducted inspections in all the business establishments in the city to check on whether they have renewed their business permits.
