Unity is army's message on 108th Independence Day
MAJOR SOLLESTA
Buenavista, Guimaras -- Unity is the center of the message of Major Lyndon J Sollesta, Commander of the Army's 3rd Civil Military Operations Unit during the 108th Independence Day celebration of Buenavista, Guimaras on June 12, 2006.
As Guest Speaker during the historical activity held at the Poblacion, Major Sollesta placed emphasis that, "let us always be conscious that we belong to one country and one nation. If we could move in unison to negotiate the gap between now and the future, surely, we could achieve what everyone envisions, a progressive and a well developed Philippines. The main ingredient to this formula is Unity."
Present during the activity were Buenavista Municipal Mayor Samuel Gumarin and his better half, Dra. Cecilia Gumarin, Municipal Officials, School Heads with their students, Veterans of the Guimaras District, and lots of freedom loving Buenavistahanons.
Major Sollesta concluded his message with a reminder, that the military organization is a professional, capable and responsive Army that is the source of national pride. He gave assurances that the Army remains united, focused on the mission, maintains its apolitical stance, strictly adheres to the chain of command and continues to perform its mandate of protecting the freedom and democracy of the Filipino people.
