Town cops, brgy official in 'hot water' over bar incident
Charges are set to be lodged by a bar management and a woman entertainer against a group of off-duty cops and a barangay official over last Thursday's beer-bottle throwing incident.
With the matter entered into police record as a physical injury case, operatives in Passi City identified the main suspect as 39 year-old Ramil Blanza, barangay kagawad of Barangay Poblacion, Dueñas, Iloilo.
The woman complainant was identified as 20 year-old Jean Pagal who sustained a deep-cut in her forehead that required some four-stitches when rushed by co-workers to the nearby hospital. She also told authorities that she was manhandled after hit with a beer-bottle and forcefully shoved towards a wall.
Radio accounts identified the rest of the suspect's companions including his policeman brother, PO1 Charlie Blanza, friends PO2 Ronald Paclibar both of Duenas Police Office and PO3 Alexander Lauron of Lambunao Police Office.
In a report, The News Today (TNT) gathered that the incident occurred at the Servando Videoke bar in Barangay Punong Grande, Passi City just about midnight. The male suspects demanded for an audience with the bar owner who was then not in the premises. An argument ensued that reportedly irked the barangay kagawad. The woman entertainer was then hit by a beer-bottle as a warning was made to the bar security against making any move.
SPO1 Dionito Limogmog of the Passi City Police Office reported of a voluntary surrender from Ramil Blanza while PO1 Blanza denied any wrongdoing.
In a radio interview, PO1 Blanza said it was the woman entertainer who without provocation hurled verbal insults against him and his group.
TNT gathered from sources that the charges will be pursued against all of the male suspects.
