From hospital chief to medical staff at dental office
Dr. George Aception interviewed over GMA
television's 'Ratsada' newscast.
It was both good news and bad news for controversial hospital chief, Dr. George Acepcion. Good news with Monday's reinstatement as head of the Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital (RTMDH). Yet 'bad news' as he only stayed as such barely an hour with an office order issued by Governor Niel Tupas, Sr. reassigning him to the Capitol's medical/dental office.
Both developments occurring within the day and minutes apart, Acepcion who was administratively charged for alleged oppression and immoral conduct was to see the end of his 60-day preventive suspension.
Albeit set to receive the same compensation due to a hospital chief, Acepcion began to serve his new assignment as amongst the medical staff under the Office of the Governor.
The reinstatement and simultaneous reassignment came in the wake of the yet to be resolved and concluded Administrative Case No. 2006-01.
The News Today (TNT) learned that the reinstatement order as contained in Hospital Order No. 1 was accomplished by said doctor himself in accordance with Civil Service Commission rules.
On the other hand, the Governor in issuing Office Order No. 123 pushed for the reassignment "in the exigency of service.
"You shall report to the said office which shall exercise supervision and control over your office assignments, Daily Time Records and other administrative responsibilities," Governor Tupas in his order wrote.
Acepcion's plight stemmed from a supposed complaint lodged by hospital critics downplayed by said physician and his lawyer. An in-house investigation was pushed by Tupas though it was not immediately known when the probe will conclude with its recommendation.
