On Anti-Smoking Ordinance: What can you suggest to improve the ordinance and to make it successful?
ROMMEL LAGUDA
Strict implementation, more deputized volunteers of good moral character. More aggressive information drive.
WILLIAM GELLA
There will always be smokers! Encourage community to make smoking rooms like in Japan. LGU must give incentives to investors but should also earn from them. Raise the price of cigarettes at Php 1,000/pack! LGU benefits by 90% tax! Levied tax goes to LGU health services!
DR. WENDY P. UY
We need the help of the media to inform the public regularly on the effects of smoking on our health. Let's be realistic! We cannot totally eradicate smoking. We can just minimize it.
SAM PRUDENTE
Implementation. IMPLEMENT thoroughly. Implement with a commitment to pursue the bill consistently... lead by example... IDEAS are good, but HOW we implement separates the men from the boys.
MICHAEL GORRICETA
We need proper supervision and public awareness in order to make the ordinance work.
ERIC SORIANO
Just ban smoking in all enclosed areas and public vehicles.
CEDRIC LORING
In my opinion, I think all bars should be allowed for smoking at a certain time like 10 p.m. above but the bar must have sufficient exhaust for the smoke.
PHILIP YUE SIN
How to make the ordinance work I really don't know. Maybe increase taxes more on cigarettes para sila na mismo mag quit smoking sa sobrang taas na ng presyo!
LEEZA ABANILLA
Pinoys are hard to discipline here, I wonder why not in other countries! Impose very huge amount of tax to manufacturers and very high amount of penalty for violators! It can even help our revenue.
DR. YULE QUIAMPANG
There must be a concrete law to support this anti-smoking ordinance and a strong political will on the part of our city officials to implement this ordinance or any other ordinance and law for that matter.
