Transactions at NSO reach 100T level
Transactions at the Iloilo Census Serbilis outlet of the National Statistics Office (NSO) in Western Visayas posted as high as 100,626 for the first and second quarter of 2006. It is higher compared to last year's record on the same period.
Records from the office of NSO Regional Director Norman Julag-ay showed that from January to June of 2006, there were 100,626 transactions made. It is higher compared on the transactions made from January to June of 2005, which only registered at 83,896. There is an increase of 16,370 transactions. It is estimated that 600 transactions are made daily.
The transactions at the NSO varies from the authentication of birth (AU-B), authentication of death (AU-D), authentication of marriage (AU-M), cenomar (CE-M)
(certificate of singleness), copy issuance of birth (CI-B), copy issuance of death (CI-D) and copy issuance of marriage (CI-M).
Of the total transactions made for the past six months of 2006, the CI-B ranked first with 80,606. It is followed by CI-M with 14,900. CE-M followed third with 3,324 transactions, CI-D 957, AU-D 398, AU-M 313 and AU-B with 128.
The transactions for CI-B are notably high in the month of May with 18,919 transactions. There is a drastic increased for the CI-B in May after several board exams such as Nurses Board are given. It is even higher compared in the month of June where CI-B is one of the requirements set forth for the enrollees. The CI-B transaction for the month of June is 13,389.
Understandably, individuals who want to transact with the NSO for their CI-B as one of school requirements applied before the enrollment period. For the month of March, just after the school ends, the applicants for the CI-B totaled to 13,753. For the month of January, the CI-B is only 10,750 and 10,899 for February.
In last year's first and second quarter, the transactions for the CI-B is the constant top placer with 69,909; CI-M 11,729; CE-M 1,122; CI-D 460; AU-M 364; AU-B 158 and AU-D with 94.
This year's transactions at the NSO are expected to rise as there is already an indicator based on the figures first six months of the year. Last year, the total transaction at the NSO reached to 157,473.
