Blessed creatures
I have learned something today. I woke up this morning and realized the number of roles I play everyday. It's not like I am complaining but come to think of it... Wow! Women are such blessed creatures. Multi-tasking is second skin to us. I say this for a lot of reasons or because of the roles we play everyday. Round one of my day starts as early as five in the morning. I prepare breakfast for my two kids who have to be in school before 7:00 a.m. While doing that, I make sure their uniforms are ironed and ready to wear. While they start to eat breakfast, my frying pan is ready to fry chicken which serves as their baon for lunch. And while the chicken is frying, I make sandwiches for them to bring to school. Off they go at 6:30 a.m.
On my second round for the day... I wake up my wonderful husband so he can get ready for work. I prepare his breakfast and make sure his coffee is not too hot to drink so he can savor it. He gets off to work just before 9:00 a.m. The great thing about it is that his office is just a few blocks away from the house.
Like clockwork, the moment my husband is off to work, my two boys (a five year old and the almost two-year old) wake up. Of course, my two boys need more attention than the their elder siblings so this is kinda tough especially with my almost two-year old boy... always following me around the house, giggling, gurgling and whining all the time. And while that is happening third round of my day starts... household chores! I have no help and so I get to do everything inside the house except laundry (Bravo!). Anyway, a bit of sweeping there, wash dishes here, fix bed, wipe a little that, etcetera, etcetera, etcetera...Hah! Catch breath... Whew!
Oh well, the fun part starts for my third round... cooking lunch. It is fun for me because I love cooking. It's home food so nothing fancy. I make sure lunch is ready a little before 12:00 noon because it's my five year old son's turn to go to school. Oh yeah! He eats lunch, takes a bath and dresses up for school. While this is all happening, my almost two-year old baby does his own mess (a lot of mess) so perhaps you can picture how it is, my house is actually a nursery, day care center what not... me, two year old and the five year old... Imagine that! Near screaming? Oh yeah, almost there. Okay, where was I?... I take the five year old to school (with two year old tagging along... not easy, huh!), goes back home and sends two year old to slumber world... haaay salamat, peace at last!
My fourth round... after seeing to it that everybody is off to school, work and slumber world, I spend the rest of the day to myself. That means I start my computer work for the BLD community. I stopped doing my part-time training job to be full time mother, housewife and community worker. Though these roles are all part of my life every day, for me it is an endless contribution to a much bigger "changed" perspective. It is a sense of fulfillment and an experience I will not trade for any monetary compensation. I know there is no such thing as getting paid for a 24-hour job as mother and housewife, however, having beautiful children and a wonderful husband is enough compensation to make my life happy, content and consider it as simple and normal. I can say now that I am one of God's blessed creatures.

I came across these quotes (if I can call it that) that makes real sense to me. Perhaps, it will be the same for you out there. Some are actually humorous, the rest are so practical and logical. Read and learn!
- Faith is the ability to not panic.
- If you worry, you didn't pray. If you pray, don't worry.
- As a child of God, prayer is kind of like calling home every day.
- Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape.
- When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot.
- Do the math. Count your blessings.
- God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts.
- Dear God: I have a problem. It's me.
- Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted.
- Laugh every day, it's like inner jogging.
- The most important things in your home are the people.
- Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional.
- There is no key to happiness. The door is always open.
- A grudge is a heavy thing to carry.
- He who dies with the most toys is still dead.
- We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments.
- Nothing is real to you until you experience it, otherwise it's just hearsay.
- It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done.
- Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle -- it only makes progress when it sticks out its neck.
- Be more concerned with your character than your reputation. Your character is what you really are while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

By the way, the time for myself every day ends around 4:00 p.m. because I have to get ready to pick up my five year old son from school... of course, the two grown up ones go home on their own. As soon as I am back from my son's school, I prepare dinner for everybody. All kids are sent to slumber world by 8:00 p.m... again, peace at last! Of course, relaxing time with the wonderful husband is next in the agenda for the day when all is quiet. My husband and I would say, "Coast is clear, Honey"! The house goes back to its fixed state then haaay... peace and quiet, just the sound of the TV can be heard. That is my life, no regrets! Wouldn't you want to be me? Or not?
