Iloilo City PNP ready for All Saints Day fete
This early, police authorities here have already come up with security measure in connection with the celebration of All Saints Day on November 1.
As this developed, Senior Supt. Norlito C. Bautista, director of Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), held a command conference with all precinct commanders in Iloilo City's six police precincts to discuss and come up with security plans under the PNP's yearly program dubbed "Oplan Kalag-Kalag."
Bautista has underlined various security measures to be implemented by his command throughout the city, aimed at ensuring an orderly and peaceful celebration of All Saints Day and All Souls Day on November 1 and 2, respectively.
Part of the security plans include the establishment of Police Assistance Center in various public cemeteries located in every district throughout the city, police visibility through random mobile patrol operation, gun ban, and liquor ban in and outside of all cemeteries.
The city police director likewise had coordinated with the city's Traffic Management and Engineering Unit (TMEU), tasked to initiate traffic rerouting scheme and regulate vehicular flow during the annual celebration, particularly in areas surrounding Tanza Cemetery and the Chinese Cemetery in Molo district where traffic congestion usually occurs.
Members of the Civilian Volunteers Organizations (CVOs) would also beef up the police force in maintaining law and order during the yearly celebration.
