Peking Duck Parade at Hong Kong Kitchen
Eugene Chua (Proprietor) introducing to
us the new Peking Duck.
Chinese cuisine has always been such a comfort food for everyone. It's usually stir-fried, with a delectable sauce, and a mixture of meat and vegetable. It's a no-fuss, tummy filling type of food. It's unlike other cuisine where either you have to guess what's the goo in front of you or it's like an art installation gone bad. In most Chinese dishes you can see the harmonious melange of all the ingredients.
The highlight of the special lunch Hong Kong Kitchen hosted was the imperial tasting Peking Duck. The restaurant is known for its authentic Chinese cuisine with no less than several Hong Kong native or Hong Kong trained chefs.
The Peking Duck treat was sort of a performance piece in itself. The ducks are prominently displayed in a metal & glass container perhaps to entice the diners of the resto. You order one and a head waiter will personally carve the meat in front of you. Then they will sandwich it inside a chewy wrap mixed with Hoisin sauce and some white onions. Then all you have to do is sink your teeth into it. A burst of flavor from the crispy meat with a thin layer of duck fat will assault your senses. Then the Hoisin-bite will kick in and then you want to take another bite. And then another bite. And more bite. And then you want another piece. It's that delicious! Plus, the bony-meaty part is cooked once again into a delicious spicy dish with chili and pepper. That's two dishes for the price of one! Trust me, you simply have to experience it yourself to understand.
Do visit Hong Kong Kitchen for a wonderful array of authentic Chinese cuisine like Peking Duck, Crispy Chicken with Lemon Sauce, Fish Fillet with Tausi, Assorted Dimsum and Century Egg, Broccoli with Garlic, Noodle Soup topped with assorted meats, Yang Chow fried rice, Stir Fried Vegetables and so much more! Enjoy some Taho, Mango Sago and Almond Jelly for dessert.
