PASAWAY was formally opened last December 8, 2006. The month-long show was conceived based on the notion that Negros Occidental sprung from the pasaway (black sheep) scions of Iloilo. It was Zaffy Ledesma of Museo Iloilo who brought the idea of having a joint art exhibit. Surprisingly, it only took two months for Liby Limoso, Carlo Juntado, Norman Posecion, RJ Lacson and Manny Montelibano to work on their own definition of pasaway.

Limoso's interpretation revolves around the ideology that developments in technology as well as the advent of new colonies and kingdoms are products of expressing one's self despite the criticisms that comes with being different from the usual.

On the other hand, Juntado's version deals more on the psychological aspect directly relating to the bizarre behaviors of schizophrenics as their way of reaching out to the society. His work portrays how auditory hallucinations affect an individual causing him to act against his better judgment.

For Pocesion, the word implies a behavior that is out of the ordinary as seen everyday in almost everywhere. Lacson breathe life to his own concept of pasaway through various digital prints that depicts his views on the topic. For him, being pasaway is an attention-seeking move which is either brought about by disgust or arrogance. In the end, one finds himself in the state of moral confusion wherein he often choose evil in his quest for positive outcomes.
Red Wake by Manny Montelibano
Likewise , installation artist Manny Montelibano touches on the issues of religion, moral laws, traditions, animal behaviors and death. He sees that being difficult is as synonymous as being judged and that the greatest pasaway people of all time such as Hitler, Marcos, Gandhi, Marx and Socrates somehow changed our perception about life.
