New PNP director in Western Visayas assures peaceful elections
Newly installed Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) Director C/Supt Wilfredo Dulay Sr. has warned of stricter law enforcement to ensure that the forthcoming elections will be peaceful and orderly.
Dulay said there would be more checkpoints and police operations to prevent lawless elements from creating chaos and disrupting the exercise of the people's right of suffrage.
Likewise, he mentioned that there would be conduct of more raids, searches and seizures and the implementation of "Oplan Bakal."
"The current political exercise needs expertise on intelligence, investigation, crime prevention and public information to ensure honest, orderly and peaceful elections," he stressed.
Dulay further said he will not give lawless elements the opportunity to create chaos, thus police visibility and public information drive will be intensified.
In the conduct of the said operations, he assured the policemen would see to it that the human rights of the people would be respected.
Dulay succeeded C/Supt. Geary Barias who was promoted as the acting director for Investigation and Detective Management at Camp Crame.
The turnover ceremony held at the Camp Martin Delgado today was witnessed by no less than PNP Director General Oscar Calderon.
Calderon threw his confidence on Dulay in ensuring the continuity of various PNP programs initiated by Barias. He said Dulay, being a topnotch lawyer and chief of the Legal Service of the PNP, is equipped with vast knowledge on command management, operation and investigation.
