Budget for city's casual employees increased
The daily wages of casual employees under the Coordinated Executive-Sangguniang Panlungsod Efforts for the Development of Iloilo City (CESPEDIC) will increase after the city council amended the regulation ordinance which governs the project.
In last Wednesday's regular session, the council amended Section 5 of the Regulation Ordinance No. 00-02 which created the CESPEDIC projects specifically on the provision that states the budget.
The amendment of the regulation ordinance paved way for the increase of the budget for the city mayor's office, vice mayor's office, secretariat office and 14 offices of the 14 city councilors. With the amendment, the city mayor's office will have a budget of P140,000; vice mayor's office P120,000; Secretariat Office P54,000 and P72,000 for each city councilor office.
Prior to the amendment of the ordinance, the mayor's office has only a budget of P100,000; vice mayor's office P100,000; Secretariat Office P44,000 and P54,000 for each city councilor's office.
Majority Floor Leader Eduardo Peñaredondo, proponent of the ordinance, said the increase of the budget is primarily made to increase the daily rate of casual employees.
With the increase, a casual employee who then received a daily rate of P220 will now take a pay of P231 per day.
