7th Iloilo Provincial Liga Convention at Centennial Resort Hotel & Convention Center

Western Visayas' largest convention center served as the venue of the recently concluded 7th Iloilo Provincial Liga Convention with the theme "Pagbuylog sang mga Pamuluyo kag Pag-ugyon sang Barangay padulong sa Pag-uswag sang Pumunu-an Lokal."
The successful three-day convention was the first-ever big affair held at The Centennial Resort Hotel and Convention Center with more than 800 participants coming from 42 municipalities and one component city in the province of Iloilo.

The affair was graced by prominent local and national leaders to encourage unity and fellowship and broaden and strengthen their pledge for public service. On January 11, the convention officially kicked off as early as 8 a.m. with the welcome remarks of Liga ng Barangay Iloilo President, Angel Briones while Iloilo City Mayor, Jerry Treñas; Iloilo Governor Neil Tupas with his son Board Member Jun-Jun Tupas each conveyed inspiring speeches.
On January 12, the gathering was highlighted by the presence and messages delivered by Liga ng Barangay National President, James Marty Lim; Iloilo City ABC President, Marietta Orleans and TESDA Director General, Augusto "Boboy" Syjuco on Ladderized Education as the new PGMA way.
The Dagyaw Dancers of Iloilo National
High School performed a breathtaking
intermission number.
Likewise, Sen. Richard "Dick" Gordon was the guest speaker in the afternoon affair followed by messages conveyed by DILG Region VI Director, Evelyn Trompeta, Ronald Puno also of DILG and PRO-6 Regional Director, P/C Supt. Wilfredo D. V. Dulay. Special intermission numbers were done by the Dagyaw Dancers of Iloilo National High School. Deputy Minority Leader, Cong. Rolex Suplico was the special guest in the evening affair of the convention.
On the third day of the convention, the closing program was held along with distribution of the certificates to the participants. Lakbay Pinoy spearheaded by its prolific head, Maricon Boñales was the organizing agency of the noteworthy convention in partnership with generous sponsors such as Mang Inasal and Negros Navigation.
The Centennial Resort's wait staff
prepared the luscious food and provided
warm service to the delegates.
