Roxas City PNP cited RP's best
Roxas City -- The Roxas City Police Station (RIPS) was awarded as the best police station in the component cities category for 2006 during the 16th Philippine National Police (PNP) anniversary celebration on January 31 at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
Supt. Domingo Cabillan, Roxas City Police Chief, received the award.
The other top contenders for the award for the component cities category were PNP stations in Cauayan City, Isabela and Talisay City in Cebu.
Police Regional Office (PRO) - 6 also confered an award in Iloilo City to RCPS for besting other component cities in the region and consequently winning the national level during its own celebration of PNP anniversary on January 29.
"The national award is an achievement for the RCPS which last received the recognition for the best police station in component cities category at the regional level was in 1994," Cabillan said.
The RCPS success has been steered by Cabillan who assumed the city police's top post in November 2005 through the support of his policemen, Roxas City government, and residents, among others.
The PNP celebration is annually observed since its activation on January 29, 1991 upon the dissolution of the Philippine Constabulary and Integrated National Police after Pres. Corazon Aquino signed into law Republic Act 6975 which called for the creation of a police force that is national in scope and civilian in character.
This year's theme for the celebration is "Karangalan ng Pulis: Tapat na Paglilingkod sa Bayan at Mamamayan."
