Dulay orders Guimaras police to quickly solve Naburot robbery
Police Regional Director Chief Supt. Wilfredo Dulay Sr. ordered the Guimaras police to immediately solve the robbery case involving a vacationing Norwegian national and his companions which happened on February 5, Monday, at the island resort of Naburot in Brgy. Sinapsapan, Jordan, Guimaras.
Dulay directed Guimaras Provincial Police director Senior Supt. Modesto Sanson Jr. to hasten the identification of the suspects.
Until yesterday the Jordan Municipal Police station has not established any leads as to the identities of the culprits.
Norwegian national Jan Eric Olsen and Steve French, a Filipino-Norwegian immigrant, along with their three female companions arrived at the Naburot island resort over the weekend to spend a short vacation.
The night before they discovered that they were robbed of their valuables, police said the group stayed late along the beach before coming back to the cottage to sleep.
When they woke up the following morning they were surprised that their bags containing money and valuables were missing inside their rented cottage.
Initial investigation showed that the Naburot resort has no other guests during the time.
Police said the crime could have been committed by somebody from inside the island resort but they are still gathering evidences to prove it.
Inventory conducted by the police showed that some P986,000 worth of valuables and cash lost to the two resort visitors.
