New patrol cars for Region VI
Today, Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 distributes twenty-eight patrol cars and seven motorcycles to some Provincial and City Police Offices and Municipal Police Stations in the region.
Police Regional Office (PRO) 6 Regional Director Chief Supt. Wilfredo V. Dulay Sr. said that these patrol cars and motorcycles were used in the recently concluded 12th ASEAN Summit in Cebu City.
"PRO 6 is grateful for Police Director General Oscar Calderon, Chief of the Philippine National Police, for augmenting our logistical capability with these vehicles," Dulay said adding "these patrol cars and motorcycles are hoped to significantly contribute in our anti-criminality efforts especially this election period," he stressed.
The Toyota Altis patrol cars and Honda 200 CC motorcycles will be distributed as follows: five patrol cars and one motorcycles for Antique Police Provincial Office; four patrol cars for Aklan PPO; four patrol cars and one motorcycle for Capiz PPO; two patrol cars and two motorcycles for Iloilo PPO; eleven patrol cars for Negros Occidental PPO; and, one patrol car each for Bacolod City and Iloilo City Police Offices. These vehicles will consequently be distributed to different Municipal and City Police Stations based on the scheduled distributions given by PNP National Headquarters, Camp Crame, Quezon City.
Except for Negros Occidental and Bacolod City, the Governors and Mayors of municipal beneficiaries in Panay, together with the respective Police Provincial and City Directors, are expected to come for a simple turning over ceremony at PRO 6 Headquarters, Camp Delgado, Iloilo City.
Meanwhile, DULAY reiterates the order to all PNP units to intensify police visibility especially in places of convergence to deter the occurrence of street crimes and election-related violent incidents that would probably disrupt the proceedings of May 14, 2007 elections.
