Passi City tops Iloilo as 'vote-richest' town, Bingawan last
Passi City has yet another reason why it stands as the only component city in the Province of Iloilo.
Come May 14 elections, registered voters here will spell the difference for candidates vying posts in the provincial and national level. This, as official records from the Commission on Elections (Comelec) disclosed that Passi City is the "richest" in terms of source of votes from its 43,536 registered voters. It also has the most number of precincts at 302 not only for the Fourth District of Iloilo but for the entire province.
In comparison, the Municipality of Bingawan has the least number of registered voters at 7,118 from its fourteen barangays where the least number of precincts throughout Iloilo is also recorded here at 48 precincts.
As such, expected to get much of the candidates' visit is Passi City alongside a more 'exciting' and strenuous in-house campaign here for its local bets.
District-wise though, it is Iloilo's Third District that has the most number of combined registered voters at 201,831 followed closely by the Fifth District with 201,344 registered voters.
Precincts in the Third and Fourth Districts have an exact number placed at 1,405, a close-second to the Fifth District at 1,413 precincts.
Iloilo Province has 941,380 total registered voters from its 1,721 barangays. Votes will be cast in the 6,601 precincts recorded.
Breakdown of the registered voters are as follow, 1st District 188,100, 2nd District 152,592, 3rd District 201,831, 4th District 197,513 and 5th District 201,344.
