- Potenciano Treñas was senator. His son, Efrain Treñas was member of the 1987 Constitutional Commission and grandson Jerry Treñas is the present city mayor.
- Congressman Rodolfo Ganzon of the second district was city mayor and senator. He served the longest in prison among the political detainees during martial law in the Philippines.
- Assemblyman Salvador Britanico of the first district was also delegate to the 1973 Constitutional Convention.
- Assemblyman Mariano Peñaflorida of the fourth district was also governor.
- Assemblyman Rafael Palmares of the fourth district was also governor.
- Congressman Arthur Defensor of the fourth district was mayor of Mina, governor and member of the Philippine Commission on Good Government (PCGG).
- Congressman Jose Aldeguer of the fifth district was Speaker pro tempore and delegate to the 1935 Constitutional Convention. His daughter Sonia Aldeguer was delegate to the 1973 Constitutional Convention and voted “No” to the approved Constitution.
- Congressman Raul Gonzales, Sr of the lone district of Iloilo City was Deputy Speaker, Tanodbayan and, now secretary of justice. His son, Raul Gonzales, Jr. succeeded him as congressman. His wife, Pacita Gonzales was congressman of Zambales and his father Delfin Gonzales was also mayor of Jaro and brother Sergio Gonzales was city councilor.
- Congressman Oscar Garin of the fourth district was mayor of Guimbal. His wife, Ninfa Garin was also congresswoman and mayor of Guimbal. At present, she is mayor of San Joaquin. His son, Richard Garin is mayor of Guimbal and daughter-in-law Janette Garin is congresswoman.
- Congressman Augusto Syjuco of the second district is now TESDA secretary and was delegate to the 1973 Constitutional Convention. His wife Judy J. Syjuco is the present congresswoman succeeding him.
- Congressman Niel Tupas is governor and mayor of Barotac Viejo. His wife Myrna Tupas and son Raul Tupas are mayors. His son Niel Tupas, Jr. is provincial board member. His father-in-law Raul Causing was mayor of Barotac Viejo.
- Marivic Guevara of Molo, Iloilo City was assemblywoman in the Batasan Pambansa representing the youth sector. His father Jose G. Guevara was city councilor.
- Assemblyman Engracio Padilla of the second district was killed by the Japanese in Fort Santiago, Manila during the war for refusing to collaborate with them.
- Congressman Juan Borra of the fifth district was delegate to the 1973 Consitutional Convention and chairman of the Commission on Elections.
- Senator Esteban de la Rama of Molo, Iloilo City was a general of the Philippine Revolution.
