Kampi to resolve Guimaras chairmanship row
The decision as to who is the real provincial chair of the administration Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino (Kampi) party in Guimaras province will be known today, Monday.
The party's arbitration committee reportedly met over the weekend to thresh out the conflict in Guimaras where two individuals claim chairmanship to the party.
It's a battle between outgoing Governor JC Rahman Nava and gubernatorial aspirant Bernie Miaque.
Nava reportedly has the blessing of Kampi regional chair Rep. Iggy Arroyo while Miaque was proclaimed by national chair Rep. Luis Villafuerte.
Villafuerte, in an interview, said the case in Guimaras is now being taken cared off by the party's arbitration committee. The party has its own arbitration committee that handles the appointment of incumbent local officials and other party members. The case in Guimaras is only one of the cases being resolved by the committee.
Villafuerte identified some members of the arbitration committee as Speaker Jose de Venecia, Presidential Adviser on Political Affairs Gabby Claudio, Mayor Lito Atienza and LDP's Mike Romero.
