Kabayan Hotel: Providing a home for Filipinos from abroad and the provinces
Joselito S. Felipe, Kabayan Hotel's
Property General Manager.
Senyong is a successful businessman. After receiving his Accounting degree from a university in the province, he worked as an accountant in a trading firm.
When he got married and raised three children, he decided to put up his own business. His determination and hard work led to success, that is why he had to travel to Manila often. When he's in Manila, he stays at Kabayan Hotel.
Meanwhile, Polding, who wants to give his family a better life, decided to work abroad. There he found the opportunity to earn more as a technician. After staying away for many years, his company allowed him to go home to the Philippines twice a year. So, he would fly back to Manila and spend time with his family while they stay at Kabayan Hotel.
Senyong and Polding are just two of the many Filipinos who opt for a "home away from home" when they go to Manila. At the same time, they want to feel the Filipino style of pampering while on a budget.
FILIPINO HOSPITALITY
So, in line with its thrust to offer excellent Filipino hospitality, Kabayan Hotel has come out with yet another product offering for the budget-conscious Pinoy.
In April 1, this three-start hotel that has a Department of Tourism accreditation, will launch Pads. This new type of accommodation will be divided into Pad 1, which will showcase one single-sized bed in a seven-square meter room and Pad 2 with two single-sized beds stretched to a room with 11-square-meter floor area.
Both Pad 1 and 2 are designed with individual room air conditioning system, cable TV, telephone, private toilet and bath with 24-hour running hot and cold shower, provision for Wi-Fi Internet facility, and working table in a mini-office setup inside the room. Working lounges which serve as business meetings and interview areas are provided for Pad users.
ECONOMICAL
"This is a very economical way of hotel room accommodation for the traveling businessmen or corporate people from small and medium enterprise (SME) category that once in Manila, they don't really need to stay longer inside their room but rather spend their time for their business transactions, appointed meetings, buying and selling of good or even scheduled interviews and examinations. The need for a spacious and expensive room accommodation is not a big deal at all," said Joselito S. Felipe, Kabayan Hotel's property general manager.
DOT 6 Regional Director Edwin Trompeta said yesterday that he has stayed in Kabayan Hotel for three months and found the accommodation comfortable. "Considering the cost of the room, it's already a good bargain. It's a no-frills hotel. That should be the trend for city hotels --- convenient and nice for travelers," he said.
Pad 1 will go for P800 while Pad 2 rate is P1,200. Rates include complimentary breakfast.
"It is clean, safe, secured and super-value. So, the question is, why get a very spacious room and pay more when all you need is just a place for total rest after a long and hectic business day in a highly urbanized Manila?" added Felipe.
The launch of Pads will coincide with the unveiling of Kabayan Hotel's new building, an expansion of its facility in Pasay City. Pads is a part of the hotel's suite of new offerings in celebration of its sixth year in the hospitality business.
Kabayan Hotel, which has branches in Pasay, Cubao, and Caloocan, is part of the Legend Hotels International Corporation which includes The Legend Villas, The Legend Palawan and The Mabuhay Manor. Kabayan Hotels pioneered the concept of "bayanihan rooms" where guests can avail of dorm-style accommodation without compromising privacy as male and female guests are assigned separate floors.
