Tubungan SKs seek intervention on 'missing' prexy
Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) presidents of barangays in the Municipality of Tubungan, Iloilo are now calling for intervention on the recurring absences of the town's SK Federation president.
Made public after weeks of unresolved concern in said town, Board Member Jeneda Salcedo, SK Provincial Federation President has now officially been told and informed of the problem alongside similar attention called on the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) regional office.
Further still, the complaining SK chairmen submitted an in-house resolution to the Office of the Mayor and the Sangguniang Bayan.
The group in Resolution No. 2007-01 "earnestly appealed" to SK town chair Jefferson Tabalina to actively participate on the SK affairs.
Reports gathered by The News Today (TNT) disclosed longtime absences of Tabalina not only on the SK gatherings and regular meetings but on the town's regular sessions as well every Monday.
A pattern has been apparently noted where Tabalina would be absent and missing from the sessions every other Monday.
"How can we be represented there if that is the case? And who will push for our concerns?," a TNT SK source lamented.
The DILG has since been told of the Tubungan plight however the group failed to get any action nor the desired intervention.
Tabalina is reportedly busy in school reason why he has been missing SK duties.
