Hole of Justice
The howling
The permanent injunction issued by the Court of Appeals in Cebu City stopped the royal mess of things in the Provincial Capitol. Gov. Niel Tupas, Sr. was installed to his position and Vice Gov. Roberto "Obet" Armada returned to his post.
But it did not sit well for petitioners and respondents as the legal niceties of their appeal did not yet virtually end. However, for Capitol employees, the injunction brings back to normal their once distorted workings in the government.
As noted, foremost to be relieved of stress are the governor and the vice governor. It was only a misfortune, that the injunction did not erase all the records of provincial misuse of funds in question.
Vice Gov. Armada is seen to have been relieved of his stress when the Court of Appeals finally put his doubtful position in place. The young head of the legislative department has now returned to work with peace of mind.
His acquiescence to the CA order virtually confirmed his adherence to the rule of law. It depicts in him a young leader with patience and capability to handle difficult problems of the province and even beyond, the legislature that Tupas commands.
Surprisingly, while peace was temporarily restored at the Capitol, the media hacks of the governor keep lashing out at Armada for every chance they get. Worse, some of them are even hitting him with fabricated statements and unfounded accusations.
They deliberately ignored the truth that the filing of graft cases against the governor was a handiwork of the Iloilo Graft Watch. As reported, there are still about 19 other pending graft cases against the governor. Simply said, if there is smoke, there is fire.
In fact, Congress recommended to the Ombudsman the filing of two other cases against Gov. Tupas as a result of the congressional inquiry on alleged P45M overprice of the Capitol building and another case on the construction of the Iloilo Airport of International Standard.
The Capitol barkers are hitting everyone they perceived enemy of the boss because of fear that "manna" may no longer be available when he steps down. In fact, we have still no guarantee that when he stepped down all crooks will go with him.
When the Ombudsman's dismissal order came out in line, like the governor, his men in black panic for fear their non-stop bad money making habit would most likely redound to something like coitus interruptus - interrupted sexual intercourse!
Thus, while the vice governor is concentrating on his work, they continue to embarrass him. As ingrained in lies, they deliberately refused to understand that it is hard to defend their errant boss. Capone in the world of their own!
For how would we call a leader who keeps on asking compensation for what he never lost? How do we label a government leader with large propensity to claim things that rightfully belong to the taxpayers? This injustice is in exstinctus -- unextinguishable!
Barkers in the governor's circle inadvertently confirmed the charges of irregularities against him. This is an unwanted result of one's strange attachment to undesirable underlings with less-working brains!
On why they want to destroy the just newly installed peace at the Capitol, they have yet to say. But election is on the way. As they pompously claim their boss will win, then why panic like threatened passengers catching the last plane out?
Armada is now the official candidate of the administration for governor. Surprisingly, he keeps silent despite the assurance of support from the upper echelon. For stooges whose boss has cans of worms in the closet, they should know that to conceal is one thing, to be silent is another.
One of the damning legacies of Gov. Tupas is to make the Capitol looked like a family corporation when all past governors never did it. This is more reprehensible as we see it when his paid hacks continue howling to virtually confirm these irregularities!
