Treñas asks candidates to keep city clean
Re-electionist City Mayor Jerry Treñas has appealed to all the candidates in this May elections to observe the common poster areas designated by the Commission on Elections (Comelec). Candidates should not just place their campaign materials anywhere and make the city dirty, he said.
Treñas assured that his group under the administration party will follow the Comelec's provision on posting of campaign materials. He vowed to make a good example to all the candidates.
Treñas said, the city should not be a recipient of tons of illegally posted campaign materials.
"This will make the city dirty and an eyesore to the visitors. Currently, the city is making good in its beautification program which includes planting of flowering trees at the island of the streets," Treñas said.
Meanwhile, it can be observed that in posters indicating the name of candidate Atty. Eldrid Antiquera, one of the administration party's candidates for councilor, and that of re-electionist Rep. Raul Gonzalez Jr., are hung in almost every barangay in the city.
