Congratulations are underway to four re-electionist mayors and a first-termer lady executive and five other vice mayors all of whom are running unopposed.
With only one vote needed to secure their respective victories, southern Iloilo’s Guimbal town will have a lady mayor in businesswoman Christine “Tingting” Serag-Garin, younger sister of incumbent mayor Richard Garin.
She is joined in the “Sure-Winners’ Club” by re-electionist mayors Arcadio “Cadio” Hitalia-Goriceta of Pavia, Cabatuan Mayor Ramon “Mon” Cao-Yee, Mina Mayor Rey “Bok” Pelaez Grabato and Barotac Viejo Mayor Raul “Boboy” Causing-Tupas.
For Iloilo Vice Mayors, sure victories as well for Pavia reelectionist Vice Mayor Guillerno “Gimo” Hubines Hisancha, Cabatuan’s Ronilo “Ronnie” Ontanillas Caspe, San Rafael’s Jeannie “Jiji” Escoliada-Balasico, Barotac Viejo’s Jovino “Bingbang” Barrido-Tugbang Jr., and Sara’s new vice mayor in Board Member Jeneda Salcedo.
Majority of the sure winners are from the ruling administration party with the exception of the governor’s son, Barotac Viejo Mayor Boboy Tupas and his vice mayor under the Liberal Party.
Asked for reaction, Vice Mayor Hisancha was most magnanimous in his victory saying “I know I have to work more to live up to the people’s expectations. I really have to thank God for making these things happen.”
