Lagdameo now out of hospital
Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) President and Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo was hospitalized for nine days after he was stricken with pneumonia.
Lagdameo, 66, was discharged from the St. Paul' s Hospital of Iloilo before noon yesterday, according to Fr. Ryan Teves, director of the social communications commission of the Archdiocese of Jaro.
Teves said Lagdameo is already well and has recovered from pneumonia, a pulmonary infection usually characterized by persistent coughing and fever.
Teves said the prelate was admitted to the hospital on March 31 after he did not feel well while he was attending the graduation ceremonies of the St. Vincent Ferrer Seminary in Jaro District.
Doctors advised Lagdameo to take a rest and skip his activities during the Holy Week so that he can recover quickly.
Lagdameo failed to celebrate Easter Sunday's Mass at the Jaro Cathedral. But he is scheduled to go to Manila today for an official engagement, said Teves.
