Livelihood lending facility for gov't employees set launched
The government will launch a financing assistance program that will help the public servants and their families augment their income by getting into business.
Dubbed as Livelihood Lending Facility for Government Employees, the program will kick off on Wednesday, May 2, at the Philippine Trade Training Center in Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
To show her commitment in promoting the welfare of the government employees as well as the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) as major tool for income generation, President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will lead the ribbon-cutting ceremonies and deliver the keynote message during the event.
Presidential Management Staff Director General Cerge M. Remonde will deliver the opening remarks while Presidential Consultant on Entrepreneurship Joey Concepcion will give a message in behalf of the private sector.
Government officials involved in microfinance activities will be present to provide information on the MSME services available to government employees such as financing, entrepreneurship training, product development and marketing.
Successful entrepreneurs will also attend the one-day event to share their experiences in running a business.
Booths showcasing various products and business ideas and services of entrepreneurs and government services will also be exhibited.
In an effort to make the program available nationwide, the activity will also be replicated in the Visayas and Mindanao to be held in Cebu City on May 11 and in Davao City on May 25.
