Marquez laughs off militants' 'hallucinating propaganda'
Army Captain Lowen Gil Marquez of the 3rd Civil Relations Group is undaunted with the reactions of militant groups that condemned the Army's stern campaign against harassment, extortion and destabilization acts linked with the Communist Party of the Philippines, New People's Army and the National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF).
Maintaining that most of the progressive groups are "radical legal fronts," Marquez denounced latest incident of what he said were blatant human rights violations.
This, as he laughed off threats issued on his life and display of placards that personally attacked him and his Army propaganda work. Particular of Captain Marquez' complaint was the use of children in the Labor Day protest rallies.
"They used around 100 kids in the rally," Captain Marquez began. "And as part of their hallucinating propaganda, they claim to be fighting against human rights violations. But in celebration of Labor day, they are the ones who became the violators including the partylists supported by the CPP/NPA/NDF. They have a "dreaming propaganda."
The use of children in the rallies are clearly prohibited in the Geneva Convention Protocol II, Captain Marquez continued saying "kids holding placards of different radical progressive groups is what the International Human Rights Protection of Children forbids."
"Children and minors are not to be used in any confrontation either in combat or propaganda," he added. "But then when we go back to the Bible, si Lucifer nga demonyo indi nangimi na magbalatkayo nga anghel (Lucifer the demon did not hesitate to pretend he was an angel.)".
Marquez further voiced his concern as to why some supposed religious representatives present in the rally did not condemn the exploitation of minors.
"Baka sila ang bulaang propheta," he said in jest.
Meantime, reported liquidation attempt on the Army Captain's life will not affect the Army's advocacy against the ills brought by the CPP/NPA/NDF hierarchy.
"Ako target nila eh saan naman pupunta ang bala ng baril ko? If they are fighting for good why do they want to murder me? It's because I exposed their extortion activities and human rights violation through their rotten stratagem which is the art of deception," Marquez said..
The Army's drive is said to have generated positive response with the reported planned surrender of a number of NPA communist rebels.
"They want to surrender to me," he disclosed. "Advance information was relayed to me by their relatives so I am open to receive them into the folds of law. They now know they were just used by the party and Joma Sison for personal interest and not as human beings created and loved by God."
