Capiz youth leader makes it to PNRC nat'l council
Roxas City -- Capiz youth leader was recently elected to a national post of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC).
In a recently concluded 15th National Red Cross Youth Congress, Ayr Altavas of Capiz was elected assistant secretary of the National Council, Raymund Martinez of PNRC Capiz Chapter.
He said that Altavas was also elected Area Coordinator of Area V that covers the provinces of Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, Negros Oriental and Occidental, and Siquijor.
He said that Mr. Rey Bilan, Red Cross Youth Adviser of Congressman Ramon A. Arnaldo High School was also elected auditor of Area V Red Cross Youth National Advisers League.
The elected officials will serve for the term 2007-2009, he stressed.
According to Martinez, the four youth delegates and one adviser from Capiz were among the 250 youth delegates and 56 RCY advisers from the 46 chapters nationwide.
Other youth delegates from Capiz were Andy Bryan Banate, Archie Berrey and Rel John dela Cruz.
The activity, which was held in San Fernando, La Union, aims to develop and enhance relevant knowledge, skills and attitude of the Red Cross youth on leadership capabilities, he said.
Martinez said that this year's national congress was anchored on the theme: "3D on 33 (Discipline, Dedication and Development), Celebrating the 33 rd Founding Anniversary of NYC".
