Josephian scribes' talents honed
The participants in the writeshop
To hone the writing prowess of the Josephians' scribes, a three-day Journalism Seminar and Writeshop was conducted at St. Joseph School last May 16 to 18, 2007.
The writeshop aimed to spot budding writers in the different journalistic fields, namely: news writing, editorial writing, feature writing, poetry and editorial cartooning.
Teaching the basics of editorial writing
Gracing the confab were Hazel Villa, a columnist from the Philippine Daily Inquirer; Leo Solinap; owner of the Blue Screen Studio and member of the Philippine Photographers' Society; Jude Thaddeus Iledan, DepEd regional supervisor in English and Atty. Jobert Peñaflorida, news anchor of Sikat Ka, Iloilo and TV Patrol-Iloilo, ABS-CBN.
"Think first before you write," was the most commonly used phrase in the writeshop.
