The passing of a Godly woman
It is very painful to lose a loved one especially so when she was still alive, we were together in nearly fifty years in religious gathering and worship service, alumni meeting, Gideon activities, eating together in the malls and such other concerns. Suddenly your love one returned to her Creator. Anxiety, depression, not wanting to face people, not being able to sleep and other grief feeling, haunted me for awhile.
My grief was relieved when our lady Pastor Karen Mae Barredo of the Messiah Bible Church soothingly impressed upon me that my wife went ahead as her mission here on earth was finished. Jesus said, "I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given me to do. And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was." John 17:4-5. Many ministers of God assuaged me, my children and grandchildren on the promise of God in St. John 3:15-16: "That whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Mommy no doubt is in heaven enjoying heavenly life as the Holy Scripture teaches many believers of Jesus Christ. When my wife was alive, she attentively read her Bible in the morning and before going to sleep, saying her evening and morning prayers without letup. She was a dedicated Churchgoer during her childhood days at Tanza, at Siliman University, Dumaguete City, during high school and college days where she finished A.B. in English cum laude in 1954. In Iloilo City after graduation in college, she was active in God's work at the Iloilo Foursquare Church, the United Church of Christ in the Philippines (UCCP), Restoration Church, Bethlehem Charismatic Church, God's Power Fellowship and Messiah Bible Church.
She read the latest book of the anointed Texas world renown Pastor John Hagee, "Jerusalem Countdown." She was faithful in serving the Lord and even when she was sick, she managed to go to church. On April 22, 2007 Sunday morning service at the Messiah Bible Church, Mommy told her fellow church worshipper and friend Amy Gonzaga, "Amy, I will see you in heaven," was her last greeting to her friend.
For us the living, we really don't know when God will bring us home. Let's prepare and spend the remaining years of our life to God's service while still here on earth. Let us help win lost souls for Jesus Christ.
In behalf of my family, children, grandchildren and relatives, I wish to thank all those who have condoled with us in the hour of our bereavement; offered masses, prayer, sent flowers or donation, kept vigils, attended Mommy's funeral rites and shared in our grief which helped so much to ease the burden of the loss of our loved one. God bless you all bountifully good.
