The Bengtsson-Tupaz Wedding
"Make Christ as the center of your marriage."
Thus were the guiding words of Dr. Florentino Alerta, second parent to couple Carl Olof Magnus Bengtsson and Ilongga Ruby Anna Tupaz.
Dr. Alerta was one of the Tupaz family members who rejoiced on the union as he joined other principal sponsors in witnessing the Bengtsson -- Tupaz nuptial.
The couple's love story began late last year.
At 23, Ruby Anna was ready for the world, reason why she was most happy and eager to get the job as staff of cruise ship Superstar Libra. The eldest of four siblings, working onboard and off-shore was to become her first real job. Ruby Anna tells of the great times and great moments at work, including her usual task as the Captain's assistant where she gets to assist during the Captain's speeches.
The Captain as she described was "intimidating" with that seeming overpowering presence. From day one, she made sure she is in her best as the assistant, hoping and praying that all goes well in the Captain's speeches with her close by.
All did went well, so well that one day the intimidating Captain became the most gentle and caring man she was ever to meet.
Love has found a way. Ruby Anna found it in Carl Olof Magnus, her cruise ship Captain who lost no time in winning her heart.
Last April 28, 2007, this Information Technology (IT) graduate of the West Visayas State University (WVSU) sealed that love in a beautiful and enchanting ceremony surrounded by friends and loved ones.
It was a dreamy wedding with her husband in his Captain's uniform. The entourage, closest to their hearts, completed the vintage-classic type wedding that Ruby Anna wanted it to be.
World-class florist Lynnie Denila made the celebration most memorable with exquisite flower arrangements and lovely floral designs. Heavenly,
was what Ruby Ann kept on saying about her beautiful flowers that later matched the mood set by the starry evening. A lavish reception followed at the Nelly's Garden, one of the famed ancestral homes in Iloilo.
A special video presentation was also made for the couple by a group of talented young Ilonggos of the Mayad Studio. It was indeed a day and night to remember. A dream come true and the happiest day in the lives of Carl Olof Magnus and Ruby Anna.
And how are her days now as Mrs. Carl Olof Magnus Bengtsson? "I feel so loved. And I cannot ask for anything more. 
I have a wonderful husband and wonderful in-laws. It feels so good to be accepted by my father-in-law Olof and mother-in-law Eva," Ruby Anna shared while adding with a sweet smile, "And they love me."
For this true-blooded Ilongga, God can not be any kinder, life can not be any better. All because love found a way.
