Geoffrey Templora is passionate about bikes

With today's unstable fuel prices and the worsening of traffic in our city, the bicycle has become a popular form of transportation, apart from it being a source of leisure.
Geoffrey L. Templora, for one, is passionate about his bike and even started a business for this.
Currently, he is the president of the Iloilo Biking Enthusiast (IBEX) and managed to organize three races and two fun rides for the benefit of biking enthusiasts. Aside from leisure purposes, he also organizes some races in order to raise funds for the SOS Children Foundation.
His business, GEA Marketing, which has branches in Mandurriao and Mabini Streets caters to the needs of his fellow bike enthusiasts.
He and his wife Emelie Go -- Templora manage this business.
GEA does not only cater to those who invest in high-end bikes but also for those who are in a budget.
The IBEX has 80 members, with 50 who are active. They ride for recreational purposes around the city or even out of town. This group also conducts charity works through the fun rides that they organize.
Presently, he owns a "Cross Country" mountain bike, which costs more than P100,000 and a BMX which costs more or less P30,000. I asked him why he invested so much for a bike while with that money, he can already purchase a car. He told me that if you invest on what you love, there will be no frustrations.
Usually, people who invest in high-end bikes are those who are really into this. "If you invest on low-end bikes, the tendency is that you will upgrade and that will lead to more waste of money," Templora said.
Did you know that biking promotes good health especially for those who have cardiovascular disorders? Nevertheless, cycling is also good for those who have arthritis of the lower limbs and for those who cannot run because of the impact that this gives to joints. Furthermore, since cycling can be used as a daily form of transportation, it is less hazardous to maintain.
