CPC's Padua Wins in 2007 Ten Outstanding Students of the Phils.
Roma C. Padua, a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion bagged the most coveted national students award as one of the Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP) for 2007.
Ms. Padua who is from Tinaytayan, Dumarao, Capiz, is the daughter of Rodolfo and Madeline Castanares. She studied her elementary education at Matlang Elementary School and her secondary education at Montessori Learning Center both in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat. It was at Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion that she took up her Bachelor of Science in Accountancy in the School of Business Management.
Started in 1964, TOSP has been giving awards to outstanding students all over the country. The National Executive Committee is headed by Jose S. Concepcion, Jr., of RFM foundation Inc. This year's board of judges are Dr. Josette T. Beyo, Dr. Josefina T. Cunanan, Mr. Antonio Meleto and Mr. Jose Antonio Valdez.
The other nine awardees for this year's TOSP are: Luis Andres R. Abad, Ateneo de Manila University, Cherrie D. Atilano, Leyte State University, Julie Lucille H. Del Valle, Ateneo de Naga University, Michael B. Gamalinda, University of the Philippines Las Banos, Mark Carlo A. Pahati, University of San Jose Recolletos, Mary Kathryn V. Quinon, University of the Philippines in the Visayas, Ben B. Secretario, Ateneo de Naga University, Yuriy Jose B. Sesican, University of San Jose Recolletos, and Dennis V. Umali, University of the Philippines Los Banos.
Awards were given at the Malacañan Palace by Pres. Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo last July 5, 2007.
