New trading places at the mall

posters
Since it began early this year at SM City Fairview, the Waste Market Fair has added a new dimension to malling. Business in these new trading places at the mall has become brisk, prompting more SM supermalls to join in.
A Waste Market Fair brings together customers who wanted to dispose of papers and cartons, plastic items, computers, and appliances and recycling companies who can use them. This is a joint project of the SM Supermalls, the Department of the Environment and Natural Resources, and the Philippine Business for the Environment.
At the Waste Market Fair, one can transact business with recycling companies and exchange your recyclable items for cash. The latter include items that have no value or those that are considered hazardous like plysterene, Styrofoam, cellphones and batteries,

The huge success of the earlier Waste Market Fair has prompted other SM Supermalls to join in this exciting activity. Recently, these were held at SM Southmall, SM City San Lazaro, SM City Sta. Mesa, SM City Marilao, and SM City Bicutan. Participating recycling companies included YGARC, where

SM Supermarket, SM Food Court, SM Cinemas, and other mall tenants dropped off their excess items during the event. Other nearby residents also brought in their old stuff like computers, karaoke, electric fans, stoves, radios, televisions sets, and exchanged them for cash.
The Waste Market Fair is scheduled every Saturday of the month at SM City Mariloa, every second Saturday of the month at SM City San Lazaro, Third Saturday at SM Southmall and every Fourth Saturday at SM City Fairview.
